Cada año, un jurado internacional independiente formado por trece miembros escoge las fotografías ganadoras entre todas las enviadas por fotoperiodistas, agencias, diarios y fotógrafos de todo el mundo.
La exposición World Press Photo, conocida mundialmente como la principal muestra itinerante de fotoperiodismo, aporta imágenes para la memoria colectiva. Imágenes impactantes que han cambiado, en numerosas ocasiones, el transcurso de la historia y la opinión pública.
